Salmon Arm Golf Club has earned its place amongst the British Columbia "must play" list. Designed by Les Furber, the Champions Course unfolds over meticulously manicured terrain. Bunkers and waterholes lurk amidst tall fir, cedar and pine to offer an impressive test of golf for players of all abilities.

“Salmon Arm Golf Club truly is one of the Okanagan’s gems,” said Tom Monaghan, President of Monaghan Golf Group. “It is a well established and mature golf course with some of the prettiest holes in British Columbia. We will be using all of our resources to further elevate the Salmon Arm Golf Club experience for members, guests and the public.”

The Salmon Arm Golf Club was founded first and foremost to provide an enjoyable activity and gathering place for neighbors. It opened in April 1928 to the pleasure of eighty-three shareholders, fifty of which were playing members. Memberships were $10 and playing dues were $6 for the season. In 1929 the Club purchased 160 acres from the municipality for $875 and added three more holes. There were 94 shareholders and playing dues were three dollars a month.

Golfers playing from the late 1920’s to the mid 1950’s were privy to herds of sheep grazing on the fairways, providing close cropped grass and fertilization. This snapshot of SAGC's unique heritage characterizes the down-to-earth character of the Club, today.

Proudly, the SAGC has stayed true to its roots by continuing to offer opportunities for socializing and golfing at affordable prices.
